SICOMA is a Concrete Mixer manufacturer for the OEM, construction and infrastructure segment. Recently, at Excon, we showcased our Concrete Mixers, both Twin Shaft and Planetary Mixers along with Concrete Distribution System & Dozing Systems. Explaining the product range further, Prashant Kumar, Executive Director, SICOMA Mixers India Private Limited, “The 1.5 cubic metre planetary mixer MP2250/1500 with a double spider mixing arrangement is picking up demand in India due to high output pre-cast industry requirements.”

Concrete Mixers displayed at Excon 

The MP2250/1500 Planetary Mixer was on display during the Excon as it is being shipped to the OEM customer shortly. So, we took advantage of this opportunity to show this Mixer to our customers in India. 

We’ve received a few of enquiries for our Travelling Bucket for the concrete distribution system and Powder Dozing System as well. As a result of the resumption of many precast projects, the demand for concrete distribution systems is increasing. We are one of the pioneers in making the concrete distribution system. If we have the numbers, we shall work towards localisation of these 2 products in India.

Target market application-wise 

Infrastructure projects would be the primary use for the Twin Shaft and Planetary Concrete Mixers. During 2017- 18, we supplied a large number of high capacity Twin Shaft Mixers for Concrete Road construction. This time around, most high capacity Mixers are being supplied into the Bullet train project. In general Twin Shaft Mixers are employed in projects where mass concreting is necessary. 

In addition, the growing number of precast industry and yards for Concrete applications would necessitate the use of both Concrete Mixers & Concrete Distribution System for infrastructure construction.

Capitalising on Infrastructure Development Opportunities 

There are a slew of infrastructure projects under the Gati Shakti program, and I anticipate a lot of business for the construction equipment manufacturing industries.

IoT and digitalisation 

We’ve implemented Internet of Things (IoT) in our Mixers to allow for remote monitoring of performance. This will aid in analysis of performance parameters, resulting in significant cost savings on O&M. We have implemented this on the bigger Mixers and are conducting field trials. It will become a standard feature on all Mixers once we field validation is complete. This will offered to our end customers’ on annual subscription basis.

Future prospects 

COVID has slowed our growth in the last 2 years. We’ll need 2-3 years to fully recover & see positive growth. We are expecting to grow in this FY.

We intend to utilise every opportunity to meet our customers. We have already confirmed our participation in World of Concrete 2022 & BAUMA 2023. We want to reach out to our customers through electronic media, print media, and exhibitions; as a global brand, this is very important to us. These platforms are also fantastic way for sharing knowledge & information.
