bC India will give us an opportunity to create awareness that ‘MFE Formwork Technology’ is original manufacturer of ‘Mivan Formwork’.
Recent industry trends
After a slowdown for the past couple of years, things are now looking good for construction industry. New the government has ambitious plan to construct 100 smart cities and provide house to all by 2022. Recently requirement of FDI in housing sector has been diluted. Land acquisition rules are under review. After plunging under 5 per cent, GDP growth is also set to rise. All these will start giving results from nest financial year. Formwork industry is core component of construction industry. Majority projects use traditional formwork; however, “Make to Order” aluminium formwork segment is on uptrend in the recent years. Contractors and developers have understood advantages of using this technology to achieve speed, quality and economy. Slowly and steadily, it is replacing traditional formwork, especially in large-scale projects.
Expectation from bC India
bC India is probably most successful exhibition. It attracts a lot of users from all corners of India. MFE already has strong presence in metro cities of North, West and South India. However, there could be potential users from Tier-II and -III cities who are not aware of this technology or may have impression that this technology is costly which is actually not. MFE is also hoping to get enquiries from North-East and East India where the company doesn’t have many projects.
Key attraction at MFE stall
In 2010, MFE has installed stir friction welding machines in its factory. It is mainly used in aerospace, oil and gas, ship building, railway fabrication and many other fabrication processes where high-quality welding is required. FSW is the joining of solid state pieces, i.e. the metal is not melted. Damage to original material is hardly 25 per cent of damage caused by ARC welding. Display of panels manufactured with stir friction welding technology will be a key attraction.
Products to be showcased
“Make to Order” aluminium formwork is what MFE is going to showcase. Mr Shah claims, “We are market leader in this segment. Unlike others, our main focus is only in one category of formwork. You can measure the success from the fact that today aluminium formwork is known as ‘Mivan Formwork’, which was our company name before 2007. Some of the companies are selling their formwork as ‘Mivan Formwork’. bC India will give us an opportunity to create awareness that ‘MFE Formwork Technology’ is original manufacturer of ‘Mivan Formwork’.”
New product launch
MFE is supplying two levels of manually handled working platform brackets for erection and dismantling of formwork on external side of building. They are being used successfully till date. However, norms for safety have become very stringent, especially for above 40-storey towers. MFE is currently developing three-level hydraulically operated working platform system. The platform will cover full height and little more above working level unlike manually operated brackets, which did not covered full height. MFE will be launching this product in the first quarter of 2015.
