In an exclusive interaction, Manoj Parasrampuria, Managing Director of Indo Chain Raipur, talks about its best-in-class products, the pricing trends of industrial chains and innovative products in the pipeline.

Please elaborate on your product line for the conveyor industry.

We design and manufacture heavy-duty industrial fabrication chains, specially forged chains for aprons, reclaimers, bucket elevators, mining equipment (track chains, deck rollers, idlers, etc.), and drag chain conveyors.

What are the key features of your line of industrial chains?

The chains we design, engineer, and manufacture are used in bucket elevators (double and single strand), reclaimers, pan conveyors, apron conveyors, drag chains, bulk receiving unit (BRU) chains, track chains for excavators, deck rollers, traction wheels, idlers, and scrapers.

The key characteristics of our products include a variety of things, such as a specially developed raw material grade, heat treatment, fully automated machine manufacturing, and design. But we place the most significant emphasis on strict quality controls from the arrival of raw materials until the dispatch of finished goods; each component is subjected to a thorough QC check before final assembly.

How are the pricing trends and other ongoing global factors impacting the demand and supply of industrial chains?

There has been a substantial impact on business due to prevailing global factors in the core industry; this has also impacted the chain industry. The client has reduced the budgets, and some have kept the ongoing projects on hold, so a few other factors have affected the industry.

Which technologies are applied to your product line to ensure quality and reliability?

Ours is a fully automated plant with all best-in-class machines like plasma, vertical machining centres (VMC), computerised numeric control machines (CNC), and a fully automatic SCADA-based heat treatment plant that is accompanied by a best-in-class Equator machine for QC checks. This specialised equipment and machines help us build credibility in front of our customers and are reasons for our being in business for four decades.

What innovations are you adding to your offering for tyres and the construction equipment segment?

Apart from our standard tyre chains, undercarriage chains, and spares, we are developing many new innovative, revolutionary products in the R&D stage. In the coming months, those will be available for our customer service.
