Willus Infra supplied steel buildings with bold architecture, standing seam roofs, concealed fastener roofing & insulated wall panels for Dinamic Oil.
The Project
Willus Infrastructure provided a complete pre-engineered steel building solution for Dinamic Oil India (P) Limited, an Italian company manufacturing hoisting winches and planetary gearboxes. The project involved designing, manufacturing, supplying, project managing, and erecting the building using high-quality materials and proven technology. The key aspects of the project were on-time completion, an aesthetically pleasing and functionally superior solution, and an economical solution.
This was a specialised pre-engineered building that met all non-standard specifications and architectural requirements. Willus Infrastructure supplied high-performance steel building systems with standing seam roofs, concealed fastener roofing systems, and insulated wall panels. The building has a bold architectural form that was exclusively designed for Dinamic Oil India, with different working heights of cranes, material handling areas, cable trays, internal partitions, and mezzanine floors with higher loads for process requirements, keeping strict timelines in mind.
The building is complex, including a G+3 mezzanine area, a specially designed hanging staircase with octagonal joints, multiple utility-framed openings, a crane beam system, internal partitions, and more. The latest IS standard and a Staad 3D model were used to design the building, considering all parameters and detailing aspects.
The building has seamless and smooth joints between standing seams, curved panels, and insulated panels, ensuring that it is fully air-conditioned and does not allow air leakage. The hanging staircase has zero vibration, even without columns, due to its octagonal joints. Other design highlights include double-sided rolling shutter detailing, smoke vent and standing seam integration on a fixed structure, and interior-based joist detailing.
Key challenges involved and overcame during the project
The design of this PEB posed numerous challenges, including a specially designed hanging staircase with octagonal joints, multiple utilities, wide window-framed openings, smooth integration of standing seam roof, glass façade, insulated wall panels, curved eaves, and a high parapet fascia. Despite these challenges, our team’s dedication and attention to detail enabled us to overcome any potential obstacles early on, resulting in the successful installation of an iconic preengineered building in northern India.
The roof system features standing seam metal roofing with a concealed fix system that requires no piercing fasteners and provides weather tightness and superior resistance to wind uplift. On-site roll-forming technology was used to manufacture the roof systems, resulting in a leak-proof structure with better control over the quality installation. The building also incorporates insulated panel technology on the walls to significantly reduce the energy needed for heating and cooling.
Aesthetic features include a 6-metre-high fascia and smooth integration of standing seam, curved panels, and insulated panels, with a curved eave throughout the building adding to its beauty. Special toughened lacquered glass façade enhanced the overall aesthetic appeal, and special structural arrangements were made to fix the façade and achieve a smooth, superfine look.
In conclusion, this specialized building meets all architectural requirements and has all the complexities that industrial buildings should have, making it a truly remarkable feat of engineering.
