Ajax Fiori aims to be a concrete equipment full liner

Road to growth
The Indian government plans to make all the new roads out of concrete. Seeing this opportunity, road equipment manufacturers are making a beeline for road construction market. “All weather concrete roads are need of the hour. Development of such roads will open up opportunities for the road making machines business including mobile concrete mixtures, self-loading concrete mixtures and bigger batching plants,” said Debasis Bhattacharya, Head – Sales, Marketing & Product Support, Ajax Fiori Engineering (India) Pvt Ltd.

Citing the example of Mumbai-Pune Expressway, he said that the all weather roads are better option due to their proven performance amidst varied climatic conditions.  

Ajax Fiori’s company motto says: We make concrete sense. “We deliver concreting solutions through our equipment wherever the need is, whenever the need arises for whatever the nature of need is and at whichever quantity,” promised Debasis. 

He further emphasised, “We enable supply of concrete whenever and whatever required at whatever volume. At the lower end, we have the smallest mixer which is ARGO 1000 self-loading concrete mixer delivering 3 to 4 cubic metre per hour. On the other hand, we have the higher range of batching plants delivering 120 to 150 cubic metre per hour. Any sort of a range whatever small, medium or large requirement with we are there.”

Smart city and beyond
Though Ajax Fiori’s diversified product range can be of optimum use at ‘smart city’ development, the company would like leverage from major road development projects like Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana. “From village roads to a district highway, to a state highway, to a national highway we are there to get into any sort of road construction,” Debasis said.

Expanding product base
Ajax Fiori has diversified its market penetration with foraying in to new segments during the past few years. Commenting on the future roadmap, Debasis said, “We want to augment our product base and become a full liner in the concrete equipment solution. So whichever product in concrete we don’t have we will be launching one by one.”

Reiterating focus
At the recently concluded EXCON, Ajax Fiori has reiterated its focus into compact batching plants with the launch of CRB 30 in technical collaboration with Eurostar for the planetary mixer, which is company’s standard supply.

“The compact batching plant with reduced aggregate storage bins height is suitable not only for road construction equipment, but also for building jobs. CRB 30 can be relocated from one site to another within a day thus become very useful for small contractor as well as builders,” explained Debasis.

Vision 2016
To cater to meet the demand of emerging market in India, Ajax Fiori has expanded its manufacturing capacity extensively. However, the company is yet to reach to its full production capacity due to subdued demand. Commenting on this aspect, Debasis said, “We are running our plant for self loading concrete mixer at reasonable good capacity, but not in its fullest capacity. For batching plants and pumps we are yet to run in full capacity.”

The company has started manufacturing production base from concrete business set up in 2014. “We should rank up our quantities by 2016 and we are also doubling our sales base by 2016,” informed Debasis.
