Volvo CE, the market leader and originator of the articulated hauler, announces its largest and boldest articulated hauler introduction to date. The new line delivers outstanding innovation and is designed to fulfil today’s requirement for connected solutions, productivity performance, and emission reduction, with the human at the heart.

Volvo CE’s redesign marks a comprehensive makeover of its existing, globally recognised, best-in-class articulated transporter series, which now ranges in size from A25 to A60. The A50, an entirely new model, has been released, expanding customer options in the demanding transporter market. The range includes significant advances such as a new electrical system, an enhanced cab for improved operator comfort and safety, and an in-house gearbox that can adapt to future drivetrains. With more than 35 percent of its whole range refreshed in the last year, this is the latest stage in Volvo CE’s largest product portfolio renewal in decades.

A new range from A25-A60

Volvo CE, the pioneer behind the world’s first articulated hauler, ‘Gravel Charlie’, in 1966, proudly announces the debut of a new portfolio of world-class articulated haulers, which will be introduced to worldwide markets in stages beginning in 2025.

The upgraded models represent a considerable technological leap forward, thanks to essential innovations such as a new electrical system and an in-house gearbox, which result in fuel efficiency advantages of up to 15 percent depending on model and industrial application. Furthermore, the machines’ new cutting-edge design was built in such a way that it can change over time to accommodate future drivetrains.

A new member of the family, the A50

The all-new A50 model is a standout from this introduction, expanding customer options in the demanding transporter category. This feature, offered in select regions, demonstrates Volvo CE’s dedication to fulfilling its customers’ changing needs by improving operational capabilities and providing more options.

The end result is cutting-edge, safe, and productive machines that have been purpose-built to lower the total cost of ownership while also responding to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges on the toughest of worksites, especially when combined with Volvo CE’s pioneering digital solutions, like Haul Assist with onboard weighing.

A circular approach

The new models were designed to be among the most fuel-efficient hauling solutions on the market, while also focussing on sustainability. This involves the introduction of low-carbon emission steel derived from recycled materials and produced using fossil-free power and biogas for serial manufacturing of transporters constructed at the Braås plant. Given that steel is a major component in Volvo CE products and has historically generated large carbon emissions, material circularity is yet another example of Volvo CE taking action across its operations to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.

A step towards the future

This introduction is part of Volvo CE’s most substantial product portfolio makeover in decades, with more than 35 percent of its offerings refreshed in the last year. It is a significant milestone in the company’s continued commitment to innovation and leadership in the construction equipment business.
