SANY launches India’s first localised hybrid mining dump truck

SANY India introduces the SKT130S, the country’s first hybrid 100-ton mining dump truck, which improves self-sufficiency through advanced technology, increased efficiency, 20 percent – 25 percent fuel savings, and a strong emphasis on safety and sustainability.

SANY, a prominent manufacturer of construction, mining, logistics, and energy equipment, has unveiled India’s first hybrid off-highway 100-tonne mining dump truck, which will be manufactured locally at its Pune factory. This cutting-edge addition to SANY’s mining equipment line represents a significant step towards increasing the country’s self-reliance in producing the next generation of mining machinery using world-class technology.

The SKT130S is designed to provide great power, efficiency, and operator safety. It features a high-performance 925 kW rated power engine that provides an amazing 3200 Nm of torque, ensuring superior longevity in tough mining conditions. Designed for heavy-duty purposes, the truck has a 100-ton payload capacity and a 61 CuM heaped body capacity, making it a powerful tool in the mining industry.

The SKT130S is estimated to save 20 percent – 25 percent on gasoline when compared to typical mining trucks. Its main feature is a regenerative braking technology, which allows the high-voltage battery to charge while driving downhill.

The SKT130S is engineered to give peak performance, with an intelligent control module that assures smooth operations and a 10-inch central control screen for improved navigation and safety. Built with a particular emphasis on operator safety, the truck cabin is FOPS/ROPS certified, assuring compliance with global safety requirements while keeping strength and agility.

SANY India has localised the SKT130S, reaffirming its commitment to the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, and is actively working to localise more significant components.
