Discussion on these innovations that will rock the mining sector in 2016

  The pace of mining innovations has been slow. Mining innovations are much needed as mines are getting deeper, more inland, with resource size and geology getting more complex.

Following are two innovations that may rock the mining sector;

1. Automation
Although not involved in the design and manufacture of big capital items such as mining trucks, earthmovers and draglines, manufacturers having proven capabilities in engineering and production of niche products for maintaining equipment and improving productivity.

The technology allows new innovations in the operations; the idea is to use tools for improvement and automation technologies which are aligned with the business plan of the company, making effective and proper use of resources.

Loknath feels that most of the innovations have not spanned out geographically.
