The ₹3,500 crore investment would create a cutting-edge manufacturing facility for electric trucks, including advanced R&D, battery-pack production, motor manufacturing, and charging infrastructure.

Blue Energy Motors Ltd., a partner in Essar’s green mobility strategy and a pioneer in clean-energy trucks, inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The MoU clears the way for Blue Energy Motors Ltd.’s proposed investment in the state, which includes plans to build 30000 EV trucks. The goal is to encourage industrial growth and considerably improve the region’s EV truck manufacturing infrastructure.

Blue Energy Motors will invest 3500 crores to build a modern manufacturing facility for advanced electric (EV) trucks. The facility will include advanced R&D capabilities, a battery-pack line, a motor manufacturing unit, and charging stations. This project is expected to provide direct employment for nearly 4,000 people, helping the state shift to green energy and boosting economic growth. The proposed projects are scheduled to begin in fiscal year 2025-26.

Commenting on the partnership, Anirudh Bhuwalka, CEO of Blue Energy Motors, says, “We are excited to announce this landmark partnership with the Government of Maharashtra. This collaboration represents a crucial milestone in our ambitions of pioneering green trucking in partnership with Essar’s green mobility initiative. It reflects our shared vision for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future. Our investment will reaffirm Maharashtra’s position as a global hub for advanced clean mobility solutions and will contribute to job creation and economic growth.”

The new interconnected plant will use industry-leading manufacturing processes to build zero-emission electric trucks. These AI and ML-enabled EV commercial vehicles are intended to revolutionise heavy-duty haulage by providing unparalleled efficiency and reliability while drastically lowering carbon footprints. This effort is consistent with our objective to establish ourselves as a leader in green trucking solutions by working with important leaders and stakeholders to address pressing global issues including climate change and sustainable development.
