CASE Construction Equipment has launched Project Milaap for Kumbh Mela 2025, which will provide QR code-enabled hand bands to reunite misplaced pilgrims with their families, safeguarding the safety of millions at the world’s largest religious gathering.
CASE Construction Equipment, a CNH trademark, has launched Project Milaap, a ground-breaking Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project focused at safeguarding the safety of millions of pilgrims attending the Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj. The initiative was officially launched in the presence of CSR committee members Emre Karazli, VP-Construction Segment, CNH APAC, Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director, CASE India & SAARC, Satendra Tiwari, Executive Director – Operations, Puneet Vidyarthi, Head of Brand Marketing, APAC, and representatives from the company.
With a projected footfall of over 120/400 million pilgrims, the initiative provides a novel ‘You Will Never Get Lost’ concept to assist in reuniting lost persons with their families. The program will include the distribution of QR code-enabled hand bands to pilgrims at specific registration points throughout the mela grounds and major transportation hubs. These bands will include critical information to aid in the rapid identification and reunification of missing people, considerably decreasing the distress caused by separation.
Kavita Sah, CSR Head, CNH, states, “Project Milaap is a demonstration to our continuous commitment to social responsibility and community well-being. Through this project, we aim to ensure a safe experience for millions of pilgrims attending the Kumbh Mela 2025. Our goal is to provide families with the reassurance that their loved ones are protected, enabling them to focus on their spiritual journey.”
The Kumbh Mela, the world’s largest religious gathering, has seen multiple catastrophic episodes in the past, including stampedes and cases of missing people, mainly elderly and children. Project Milaap aims to overcome these issues through a sophisticated offline and online registration system that allows devotees to pre-register from home using a specialised mobile app and website.
Puneet Vidyarthi, Head of Brand Marketing, CASE APAC, says, “The Kumbh Mela represents a unique blend of culture, faith, and humanity. Through Project Milaap, we aim to amplify the joy of this spiritual gathering by eliminating the fear of losing loved ones. This initiative is a reflection of CASE’s commitment to leveraging technology and innovation for the greater good of society.”
CASE India has collaborated with local authorities and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to ensure that the initiative runs smoothly, boosting devotee safety and family peace of mind. Registration counters will be set up in major sites such as train stations, bus stops, and mela entry points, with the option to register via a mobile app or webpage. A network of lost and found centres staffed by trained volunteers will aid separated persons, including awareness campaigns via social media, handbills, and digital murals along mela routes.
CASE, a global pioneer in construction equipment since 1842, has been operating in India since 1989. Since its beginnings, it has constantly been a market leader in the Vibratory Compactor area and a top performer in the backhoe loader segment. The company creates Made-in-India products in its cutting-edge manufacturing plant in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, for the domestic and export markets in over 105 countries.
