In an exclusive interview with B2B Purchase, Ewart Lazarus shares his expectation about the waterproofing market as well as Chowgule products.

What are the different types of waterproofing products you offer?
We, at Chowgule Construction Technologies, offer waterproofing solutions, based on the suitability of the substrate, application area and its clients’ budget. Its key offerings are a crystalline-based impregnating system, ideal for below ground structures and water retaining structures, polyurethane foam and resin for permanent sealing of moving cracks, acrylic systems for exposed reinforced concrete, and bitumen emulsions for areas subject to heavy deflection or traffic.

Brief us on technical specification of your product.
Its waterproofing products are made as per the German DIN standards which are among the most stringent standards in the chemical waterproofing industry. Its products are also tested and clear the various BIS standards.

What are the application areas?
Chowgule offers a waterproofing envelope that covers the entire building’s waterproofing requirements. We have products that are prescribed for basements, podium, car parks, water tanks, swimming pools bathrooms, terraces, external walls etc.

Tell us about the acceptance of your products in market.
Our products are well accepted by premium builders in India with whom we have a long-term relationship. Some of the builders we have worked with are Lodha, Oberoi Reality, Sobha developers and NCCCL.

How is the demand for waterproofing products in the market and how do you meet the demand?
We are expecting the waterproofing market to grow 18-20 per cent per year. Our waterproofing solutions are offered through the 2 channels. The projects division works with premium builders and developers, the second channel is the applicator division, working with applicators on turn key projects with guarantee.
