Cold galvanising process with zinc protects steel from corrosion

Zinc metal spray offers 99 per cent pure zinc deposit, has electrochemical bond, very quick drying, needs minimum surface preparation. Easy and user-friendly application for pre-despatch inspection stages and on-site use for touch-up, it stops rust and corrosion on any iron and mild steel surface, adds corrosion protection to galvanised and welded surfaces. It is extremely useful for indoor and outdoor use. Efficient spray nozzle minimises drips and runs.
Physical and chemical standards
Zinc contents are 35 to 40 per cent in the formulation. Purity of zinc is 99 per cent pure spray dried vacuum evaporated zinc flakes. Zinc contents in the DFT are 88 to 92 per cent and colour is greyish and silver finish.
The other physical and chemical standards are as follows:
• Spray Cone (spray at 10” to 12 “ distance) – 2” to 4 “ cone film thickness is 20 – 25 microns
• Propellant – Hydrocarbon, also offers carbon dioxide MOQ 250 cans coverage of 2 metre square.
• Salt spray life – Over 500 hours of fog chamber salt spray test recommended coats is two maximum.
• Solvent type – Non CFC or chlorinated solvents
• Resin (Carrier or Binder) – Modified acrylic
• Touch dry time – 3-5 minutes
• Over coating time – 30 minutes
• Hard dry time – 24 hours
• Shelf life – 1 year
• Storage conditions – Store the aerosol spray cans in a cool, dry place in cupboard or closed shelf.
Uses and applications of cold galvanising zinc metal spray
Excellent for use of industrial maintenance, indoors or outdoors, for the following:
• Structural steel bridges, dams, transmission and telecommunication line towers, antennas.
• Railway transmission lines, electric poles, high rise masts, stairs, railings and water drain pipes.
• Nuclear or thermal and hydro power generation plants and equipments, wing mill power equipment.
• Marine applications, aircrafts, ships, naval and sea going vessels, road crash barriers and railings.
• Water pipelines, water treatment and effluent treatment plants and equipments, nuts and bolts.
• Damaged and welded galvanised steel structures metal equipment, cable trays, HVAC equipment.
• Automobiles, cars, trucks, tractors and farm equipment, exhaust manifolds and chimney, green houses, farm equipment, cattle feed and poultry plants, garden furniture and tools, air conditioning systems, fencing, piping, sumps, water tanks, gutters, hoarding structures, oil drilling rigs and platforms, off-shore rigs, steel windows, sheet metal and welds–joints.
• Used in corrosive and harsh environments in heavy chemical industries, i.e. pharmaceutical plants, oil refineries, cement, paper and pulp, sugar, pesticides or drugs and dyes chemical process piping.
Approvals and recommendations
Promtech Midaz-Touch zinc metal spray, zinc bright spray and zinc rich paint Zinkote 20 (GP and premium grades) are approved and recommended for use by RIL, REIL, IIT Mumbai (for use in SOLAR power plants), St Gobain, TATA International, BGR Energy, PCIL, BARC, Zenith, Indus Towers, TLT and signal towers Mfgrs, cable trays and gratings mfgrs and several hot dip galvanisers and are regularly used by them. All cold galvanising products manufactured by Innovative Coating Industries are tested by NABL accredited third party testing laboratories.

Confirms to the requirements of ASTM A – 780 / IS 4759 / BS: 729 as claimed by Innovative Coating Industries.
