Demand for precast and hybrid structures to drive cranes and hoists market
.

Munish Taneja President, Indiabulls Store One. In an interview with B2B Purchase.

Can you brief us on your company’s latest achievement and advancements?

SORIL Infra Resources is one of the largest rental companies operating in India. Our brand name is IndiaBulls Store One. Our customers get a one-stop solution, as they do not have to worry about the operation or maintenance of construction equipment. The latest addition to our rental fleet is Derrick Crane, where we can provide turnkey projects for dismantling tower cranes from critical locations. We have a dedicated technical team to manage these projects. In addition, we have a large fleet of construction hoists, which includes passenger hoists, material hoists, and mast climbing platforms from renowned brands.

How are the latest advancements in the construction and infrastructure segment impacting your business?

Our business has been positively impacted by recent developments in construction technology and technique for large-scale real estate projects and infrastructure projects. Today, we witness more and more precast and hybrid structures being used for construction of real estate projects, where customers will need high capacity tower cranes, passenger hoists, and mast climbing platforms. Having a large fleet of these equipment and an experienced operation and maintenance team allows us to handle complex projects quickly and safely for our customers.

Furthermore, due to major thrust on infrastructure projects by the government, we see huge demand for pile driving equipment, mobile boom placers, excavators, motor graders, dozers, and wheel loaders on the market.

Can you elucidate on which equipments you presently offer for construction or infrastructure projects?

Our rental fleet consists of tower cranes (5.0 to 25 tonnes), passenger hoists (1.5 to 3.2 tonnes), material hoists (2 tonnes), mast climbing platforms, mobile boom placers, piling rigs, motor graders, long reach excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, concrete pumps and static boom placers, steel yard equipment (automatic stirrup machines, Flexi plus shear lines, semi-automatic bending machines), concrete batching plants, dumpers, transit.

As an added advantage to our customers, we operate on a pan – India basis with regional offices in Gurgaon, Kolkata, Cuttack, Hyderabad, and Chennai. This helps us to provide seamless service to all our clients.

What are the present challenges in your business, especially regarding cost and supply chain?

How are you dealing with them? In the post-Covid era, the construction and infrastructure industry is facing various challenges, among which are the availability of parts, skilled manpower, rising prices of parts, oil, and tires, and rising transportation costs. In addition to the increase in steel prices and freight, we have seen a steady increase in the equipment prices across manufacturers. To overcome these challenges, companies need to think outside the box and innovate, they can also work with age-old practices. At our organisation, we encourage our employees to offer new ideas and devise new processes to reduce our inventory, sourcing, and overhead costs while being lean and agile. To reduce travel time and costs, we also use manufacturer service facilities and dealers located at remote locations.

With increasing emphasis on construction and infrastructure growth, how do you evaluate the demand for access equipment and boom lifts in the coming years?

SORIL Infra Resources Limited is offering a new range of electric scissor lift, diesel rough terrain scissor lift and articulated boom lifts in various sizes, with our latest technology and reasonable prices.

Our own market research indicates that the growth of access equipment in India will be very strong, with the growing awareness among users, shortage of manpower, and faster project execution. More and more customers are choosing scissor lifts and boom lifts for their projects. Reputable brands offer complete safety features in their products, eliminating chances of these equipment falling at height, if used as per manufacturers guidelines.
