Eicher Trucks launches EV-First small commercial vehicle

Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles, has made a significant foray into the Small Commercial Vehicle (SCV) segment by unveiling its EV-First Eicher Truck at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024.

This strategic move is aligned with Eicher’s commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable, and economically viable transportation solutions. The Pro Business Pro Planet range, spanning from 2T to 3.5T GVW, is meticulously designed to revolutionise urban and near-city distribution, transforming last-mile logistics.

The SCV vehicle is set for customer trials in April 2024, with commercial rollout expected in the first quarter of 2025. Eicher is taking a progressive approach to clean mobility, introducing the electric variant first and subsequently incorporating clean CNG and diesel variants. Manufactured in India at a state-of-the-art facility in Bhopal, the initiative aligns with the government’s Make in India initiative.

Eicher’s commitment to sustainability extends to the aftermarket experience, ensuring 100 percent connectivity through the innovative Uptime Centre. Leveraging AI for remote diagnostics, the company aims to minimise downtime. The ‘My Eicher’ fleet management integration provides valuable performance insights.
