Er. Samir Surlaker honoured with CIDC Chairman’s commendation award

The Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) hosted “Construction Industry – Vision 2047” in New Delhi, in conjunction with the 16th Vishwakarma Awards. The ceremony recognised notable contributors to the construction sector, including Er. Samir Surlaker, who received the CIDC Chairman’s Commendation Award for his significant contributions to construction chemicals, skill development, and industry innovation.
The Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) organised a huge event titled CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY – VISION 2047, which served as the theme for the 16th Vishwakarma Awards on April 11, 2025. The event included discussions, an exhibition, and the renowned CIDC Vishwakarma Awards. Dr. P. R. Swarup (DG, CIDC) spearheaded the event, which brought together major stakeholders from the Indian and global construction industries. The event was conducted at the Ambedkar Centre, Bhim Auditorium in New Delhi.
The 16th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards were presented during the event, in a spectacular ceremony attended by Construction Professionals and Academics. Hon. Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and MORTH, was the Chief Guest, while Hon. Vijendra Gupta, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Delhi, was the Guest of Honour. Dr. P. S. Rana, Pradeep Bhargava, Dr. B. D. Mundhra, Dr. Chandan Ghosh, and Dr. Uddesh Kohli presided over the event, which was also attended by Dr. P R Swarup, Director General of CIDC, Er. Samir Surlaker and Er. Ramesh Kulkarni. Er. Aaroh Swarup handled the event graciously and with superb time management.
During the event, P.S. Rana, Chairman of CIDC, and Pradip Bhargava, Chairman of the VKA Jury, presented Er. Samir Surlaker, Director of Assess Build Chem Private Limited, with the renowned CIDC Chairman’s Commendation Award. Er. Surlaker received the award as a token of appreciation for his proactive involvement in several CIDC initiatives, as well as his commitment and drive to create a vibrant work environment for the construction fraternity, in addition to his active participation in Skill Development initiatives through CIDC-IITD Certifications.
Er. Samir Surlaker was delighted to present the CIDC Industry Doyen Award to the deserving and well-known Er. Ramesh Kulkarni, Chairman, Soiltech (India) Private Limited.
Er. Surlaker, on behalf of Assess Build Chem and IITD, thanked CIDC for the honour and reiterated his commitment to working with CIDC to contribute to social and technical upliftment, skilling, and promoting best practices and emerging technology in the fields of construction chemicals, concrete, waterproofing, protection, and repairs to increase the life expectancy of civil engineering assets, resulting in sustainability.
Er. Samir Surlaker is the Founder and Director of Assess Build Chem Private Limited, a prominent manufacturer of high-performance, cutting-edge construction chemicals. He is also the founder and director of the Institute for International Talent Development (IITD), a skill development and training organisation certified by the Construction Industry Development Council.
