Our biggest selling point is we make European quality products at affordable price.
Sicoma Mixers India Pvt. Ltd. (SMIPL), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Sicoma s.r.l. of Italy, has launched a new Twin Shaft Mixer exclusively developed for the Indian market.
After the launch of a prototype in bC India 2014, the company has launched the commercial version of MAO750/500 Mixer with an output capacity of 0.5 cu.m. batch size of compacted concrete mixture. “MAO 750/500 is a concrete mixer meant for ready mix application (RMC) in building sectors where the demand is picking up for captive plants,” said Prashanth Kumar, Executive Director, Sicoma Mixers India.
Sicoma has been producing concrete mixers for over 60 years. Today, it is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete mixers globally. Sicoma’s concrete mixers and allied products are renowned for their advanced technology and design features.
Explaining how the new product will complement the company’s existing range of products, Prashanth said, “With this new addition, we now start from 0.5 cu.m. up to 8 cu.m. in the twin shaft mixers. In planetary mixers we start from 50 litres to 4 cu.m.”
Considering the economies globally, India is now one market where everybody is focusing. So there is an increased competition even within the concrete equipment segment. Talking on how Sicoma is going to leverage its experience to beat out the competition Prashanth said, “Globally we are the largest producer of mixers with over 8,000 Sicoma Planetary Mixers in use around the world. In India, our biggest selling point is, we produce European quality products at affordable prices to our OEM customers. This is achieved by implementing manufacturing standards and procedures that are followed by our parent group company OMG in Italy.”
The company’s modern manufacturing set up in Bengaluru helps keep prices of their products affordable in comparison to imported products from their competitors, Prashanth informed.
Customised solutions for local market
All products that Sicoma offers to its customers in India are based on designs that are developed by their R&D wing in Italy. However, there are certain changes done to suit local conditions and requirements. “We bring in the necessary changes in terms capacities of and raw materials to meet the regional requirements,” Prashanth informed.
Serve neighbouring markets
Though India is the largest market for in the region, Sicoma also caters to the neighbouring markets such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. “The whole idea of setting up our manufacturing activity in India was to create a regional manufacturing hub for Sicoma Group to cater to other markets as well,” said Prashanth. He adds, “The ‘Make in India’ initiative is also something which has worked on our sentiments. This way we are in the right direction to penetrate bigger markets from India.”
