P V Ramdev, Managing Director, Everest Engineering Equipment
Everest Engineering Equipment is one of the pioneers when it comes to the construction equipment sector. P V Ramdev, Managing Director, Everest Engineering Equipment expresses his views about the the performance of the construction industry and the company’s achievements in 2016.
Recent performance of the construction equipment industry
According to Ramdev, the construction equipment market financially showed a de-growth in the 1st quarter. He says, “In the second quarter it improved slightly and in the third quarter there was further progress. We had many orders in beginning of the third quarters also we are expecting more orders in the last quarter. This is a sign that shows a very good growth in the construction equipment industry especially in the tower cranes and passenger hoist.”
Talking further, Ramdev said, “Actually in the 1st quarter the growth was negative in comparison to the same period last year and in the 2nd quarter it started growing gradually.”
Ramdev made specific remarks about the scaffolding technology. “Today there is a change in uses of scaffolding technology. We have customers who are opting for 10 to 16 tonne of tower cranes. We have two brands of tower cranes from China, one is SYM, which can offer from 8 to 64 tonne of flattop, topkit and luffing. We can also offer the tower cranes from 32 to 200 tonne from FINEHOPE China for power plants and heavy handling.”
Ramdev expects that the market will be growing around 25 per cent in 2016 and may grow about 35 per cent next year. That will increase the requirement in India from 600 units in the year 2015-16 to 900 units by 2017-18. In order to make the most from this opportunity, Everest Engineers would like to tap at least 10 per cent of the market and Ramdev is confident about achieving it.
How was 2016 for Everest Engineering?
When asked how the year 2016 was for the industry, Ramdev said, “The start of the year 2016 was not a pleasant one for the company. However, the situation has improved and we hope that we will achieve the same target what we have achieved last year.”
BAUMA Conexpo India 2016
Ramdev considers Bauma Conexpo as a very good platform for all the construction machineries. The company is expecting at least 25 to 30 per cent more visitors in this exhibition due to the growth in the Indian infrastructure, real estate development and as well as the refineries sectors. As a large number of corporate, SMEs, trading companies will visit Bauma Conexpo, Ramdev feels that the participation in this expo is very essential to deploy the company’s machineries and to showcase its capabilities.
For the first time Everest Engineering will be launching their own passenger hoist in Bauma Coexpo India 2016. This passenger hoist will be manufactured in China. This passenger hoist is built according to Indian market and Indian conditions. Ramdev claims that the passenger hoist is designed and manufactured to run for at least 15 to 20 years without any major problem.
