P V Ramdev, Managing Director, Everest Engineering Equipment Pvt. Ltd. In an interview with B2B Purchase.
What products and technologies you are displaying at Excon?
At Excon, we, at Everest Engineering, are primarily planning to display our most prominent passenger hoists from GJJ. It’s a special hoist used for the construction of various buildings and factories up to the height of 500 meters. Along with, we are showcasing rebar processing machines, which are well known and highly in demand for booming infrastructure and construction applications.
Furthermore, you will also find our CN automatic stirrup benders at display. They can bend any shape or any size of rebars for high speed construction requirements, mainly for precast buildings and rapid construction purposes. This will be also useful for infrastructure projects like metros and high speed railways as well, wherever every contractor needs a highly mechanised and fact production process.
Can you talk about the safety system features?
While talking about our safety system mechanisms, they are imported from Germany, and are widely accepted by most of the contractors around the world. These machines are powered by electric motors. They are energy efficient and environment friendly since it emits less pollution.
How passenger hoists are useful for various applications?
Passenger hoists is one of our most popular product that can be utilised in any factory or industry, and even in plants like cement, steel, and power plants among the others. This is also a preferred choice for construction of multi-story structures. Our passenger hoists are most advanced product range and popular in the fast growing construction sector.
How is your organisation responding to the changing client requirements?
Indeed, looking at the changing requirements, we began and commissioned our R & D centre last year, at Mumbai. Based on the feedbacks and customisation requirements, our team of engineers are always at work. We are also modifying our equipment to a power saving mode.
For instance, a 2 tonne passenger hoist require a 33kW motor. But we use only 22 kW of motors, where we can obtain a speed of 46 metres per minute. Whereas, a 33kW motor offers maximum speed of 33 meters per minute. These are the advantages we could develop from our R & D Center, which is widely acceptable. If we are able to obtain power saving of around `4-5 Lakhs on each hoist per year, is a massive saving. And Everest Engineering is scheduled to introduce this passenger hoist at Excon.
What are the market opportunities and push towards the infrastructure development and what plans you have to encash the opportunities?
We have rebar processing machinery such as Stirrup Benders, Double Benders, Shear Lines, and Pile Gauge Making Machines for infrastructure projects. All the mentioned machines are CNC-based, high-speed production machines. This is another preferred segment by the infrastructure companies, and we are launching a product for this segment too.
Most waited Excon exhibition is happening now, and we are excited to be a part of this. Moreover, being one of the sponsors expect a much higher footfall during this edition of Excon, as this event is scheduled after a span of 3 years. And within last 2/3 years, there are so many new products as well as new technology. So we expect the footfall will be at least 25 percent higher than what happened in 2019.
