EXCON, the international trade fair and conference on construction equipment and technology, won the first prize in India’s Top B2B Exhibition category presented by IEIA and the Economic Times.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), India’s leading industry association, launched EXCON in 2000 and Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA) being the sector partner for the event. Since then, EXCON has grown in size and stature and has been a premium platform for the construction equipment industry in SAARC region.

EXCON 2017 had 5 country pavilions – China, Germany, Italy, South Korea and UK. Around 918 exhibitors, which included 281 from abroad, participated in the exhibition. The exhibition was attended by 55,224 business visitors covering an area of 2,50,000 sq.m. EXCON has emerged as the largest construction equipment exhibition in South Asia for the last three consecutive editions.

As India’s leading industry association, the CII plays a critical role in boosting India’s inclusive growth and economic development by partnering with government, industry and civil society. In recognition of its outstanding work in business development through exhibitions, the Indian Exhibition Industry Association (IEIA) conferred on CII three awards at a glittering ceremony in Hyderabad on 10th May.

Apart from winning the first prize in India’s Top B2B Exhibition category for its flagship event EXCON, CII received the 1st runner-up prize for India’s Top B2C Exhibition for Auto Expo and was recognised as one of India’s Top 10 exhibition organisers.
