Dampness tends to cause secondary damage to a building. The unwanted moisture enables the growth of various fungi in wood, causing rot or mould health issues and may eventually lead to sick building syndrome. Plaster and paint deteriorate and wallpaper loosens. Stains, from the water, salts and from mould, mar surfaces.

The highest airborne mould concentrations are found in buildings where significant mould infestation has occurred, usually as a result of severe water intrusion or flood damage. Moulds can grow on almost any surface and occurs where there is a lot of moisture from structural problems such as leaky roofs or high humidity levels. Airborne mould concentrations have the potential to be inhaled and cause serious health effects in humans. Wall panelling of ECOPRO green board not only helps to hide the damped area but also lower the humid effect at any room with an increasing the air quality.

ECOPRO boards are made of cement and cellulose fibre with a blend of additives to make a homogenous material with a unique autoclaving high pressure steam curing technology which provides the board a high strength. Ecopro board wall panelling has a superior finish with a high impact resistant power. These boards available in thickness from 6 mm to 18 mm with a face and back side finish.
In a discussion with us M Satyanarayana, President of Indian based construction company said that ECOPRO boards are mainly use for wall panelling and dry wall application in thickness of 12 mm whereas the higher thickness is being used for mezzanine floor application these boards can also be used as antistatic floor application for server rooms. The lower thickness of ECOPRO can be used in false performance ceiling application.

ECOPRO 12-mm is a water-resistant, fibre cement board for tile that fastens directly to the wooden or GI frame of a wall. A good tile job begins with using the right materials, and when tiling onto a wall in a wet area, there are a few important things to consider. ECOPRO cement fibre board is not allow water to pass through and does not have any effect of mould and maintain its shape even in a high moisture condition. It is made of homogenous material and has no paper face to expose directly to mould and moisture area. Unlike any other plaster board ECOPRO boards has high strength layer bonding to provide a good support to tile or stone fixed on it. ECOPRO Boards complies the with BS 476 part 4,5,6 and 7 and E84 -12b in fire class and non-combustible in nature.

ECOPRO wet line area application is the utmost choice for all wet area application, wooden or Gi frame work has installed on along the existing brick or masonry wall at the distance of c/c 600 mm the ceiling and floor tracked has been alien thru water level. After the framing the 12 mm board of ECOPRO has been screwed to the framing the joints were staggered and kept open to get a grove look. The cavity between the wall and ECOPRO board allow the air to pass thru and does not create any bad smell. Tiling is very easy on ECOPRO board with help of any a tile adhesive available in the market or recommended by the tile company.

Another application for wet area is to construct a dry wall with the help of ECOPRO fibre cement board, these walls are non-load bearing and occupied less space compare to conventional brick masonry. Ceiling and bottom track has been fixed with the help of expansion fastener and must be in plumb. C stud at c/c 610 mm has been fixed vertically to make the frames, any lode of WC or kitchen sink has to be transfer to slab with extra support.

The boards have been fixed with staggered joints and groves on to the edges. Water proofing cote of latex can be applied on to the boards before fixing the tiles on it. ECOPRO boards are suitable for any need for wet area application.
