The requirement of higher capacity batch mix plants will increase considerably and there may be a demand vs supply crisis at some point of the time.
Demand for asphalt batching plants will propel in the coming years, yielding the push for road construction infrastructure, says Kranthi Kumar Ravuri, Managing Director, M/s. Vibrant Construction Equipment’s Pvt. Ltd.
Please, talk about the exciting and encouraging industry trends or developments regarding asphalt batching plants.
Asphalting roads is one of the most important infrastructure requirements, which explains the significance of asphalt producing plants. Historically, road construction has been extremely slow, taking an average of 5 to 6 years to finish. This occurred due to the continual usage of asphalt plants; as a result, progress and road quality were not attained. However, because each project must be completed in 18-24 months, the contractors needed a better and more efficient product, and the invention of the asphalt batch mix plant provided a very encouraging and important product.
What measures are in place to ensure consistent quality across your asphalt plants?
The major factor impacting the performance of any product is the QUALITY of the equipment designed and produced. To ensure consistent quality, we follow very stringent norms during every stage of the production of the equipment, proper and effective quality checks at both stage and final inspection. Only after the manufactured equipment qualifies our quality norms do go ahead and dispatch them to our customers. These factors play an important role in its performance at the site.
How are advanced and innovative asphalt plant addressing the challenges in the road construction and infrastructure sector?
As the government of India and NHAI are focusing on maximising and completing all the major road projects across the country in as minimum time as possible. The Infra Ministry has set a target of completing 32 kms of road every day. Due to this, Infra contractors face hassle and near impossible targets to achieve. Therefore, high-quality and high-performing asphalt plants will help to achieve these targets. Hence, producing very high-quality equipment is essential.
Which maintenance measures are in place to maintain effectiveness and performance efficiency in asphalt plants?
Maintenance of plants is a critical component to enabling minimum downtime of the plant and maximising the production output. There are critical and important steps to increase the life span of these machines, apart from performing to customer satisfaction. Therefore, we first ensure that the plant is manufactured with only branded and reputed items so that performance is not affected. We have a strong and well-controlled manufacturing process that
ensures the quality of the product. We assemble the plant after manufacturing and dry-test run the plant to ensure there are no issues. We then correct them, and only after this it is dispatched.
Looking to the future, how do you see the role of asphalt batching plants evolving in the infrastructure sector?
The future of the country and the infrastructure products looks very bright for this product, as at present we have completed about 15th of the total potential of the pending infra projects. As almost all the road projects are being asphalted, the requirement for higher capacity batch mix plants will increase considerably, and there may be a demand vs. supply crisis at some point in the future.
Keeping this in view, we have already moved to our new modern manufacturing facility in Hyderabad and have procured the most modern automated machines to ensure the best quality product is produced. We are also expanding our sales presence Pan India and aggressively marketing our products. We intend to be at the forefront by supplying the best machines with minimum quality issues at very competitive prices and ensuring the best support for all our customers.
