GS Caltex has expanded its industrial lubricants portfolio to cater to wide range of applications in construction and mining sector in India.

In the upcoming bauma 2018, GS Caltex will focus on communicating with customers its strength of Kixx LUBO and its technology advantages and focus on establishing strategic partnerships, says company’s General Manager- Industrial OEM Jayanta Ray.

What can we expect from you at bauma India expo this edition?
GS Caltex Group II/III base oil has excellent low temperature properties and exceptionally bright white clear transparent qualities. The Group II/III base oil produced by GS Caltex is eco-friendly with low volatility, reducing oil consumption and improving fuel economy. GS Caltex offers high thermal and oxidation stability to support drain interval extension. All these advantages are the result from the latest cutting-edge hydrocracking technology.

Kixx LUBO, the famous name in base oil, is a combination of the GS Caltex family brand Kixx and lube base oil. The Kixx name originates from the etymology of ‘kick’ to describe speed, strength, and dynamism. We will focus on showcasing our R&D capability. R&D is the core strength of GS Caltex in developing product competitiveness for lubricants and polymers. GSC R&D facility is located near Seoul in South Korea which has developed many award winning lubricants to forge partnerships with major OEMs and Key Accounts.

Are any new products or innovations going to be unveiled?
We have invested in developing our PAO based Kixx range (Kixx DX EURO 15W40– API SJ4) to meet future demands of the sector. Product categories meeting API CK4 and API FA4 standards are also ready for launch and will be in market as India moves to stricter emission norms towards BS VI.

Apart from same, we have expanded for hydraulic oil portfolio to launch long life hydraulic oil (Kixx Hydro HVL) as well as zinc free hydraulic oil (Kixx Hydro AF).

We have also expanded our synthetic grease portfolio to focus on High Temperature Grease (Therma 2), Moly Grease (Molytex 2) and Steering Grease (Multifak EP2). We will have separate platform to show all high performance portfolio in bauma high lighting clear advantages and benefits.

What will encourage your customers to most prefer your solution while buying?
GS Caltex focus on premium lubricating oils help increase equipment operating efficiency and engine fuel economy and help contribute to reduced energy and resource use, lower emissions and cost savings for industrial equipment and machinery, as well as passenger and commercial vehicle engines.

Major requirements can be summarised as below:
• Kixx range engine oils high-performance synthetic engine oil that can help increase engine efficiency and improve engine fuel economy, compared with other engine oil grades most commonly used.
• Kixx Geartec branded synthetic driveline products can help to provide outstanding performance as well as to reduce mechanical energy losses.
• Kixx Hydro HD Series of hydraulic oils provides quantifiable increases in hydraulic equipment efficiencies and output, resulting in the potential for reduced energy consumption and operating costs.

How favourable do you see the present market conditions for an optimistic year ahead for this business segment?
In a report, it is estimated that the construction equipment market is to grow at a CAGR of 6.8 per cent during FY18-FY24 in India. Road construction, mining and infrastructure segment are driving the growth of construction equipment which in turn pushes demand for lubricants.

According to ICRA rating agency, mining construction equipments is expected to grow by 20 per cent in 2018 itself. Moreover, rapid urbanisation, abundance of foreign investments and surging demand for responsive equipment are few of the other major factors expected to boost demand for construction equipment in India in the coming years. Hence we are quite optimistic that, government push in infrastructure section will be driving the market in current year and years ahead.
