The Greater Noida Authority envisions a 400 crore six-lane elevated road to relieve NCR traffic, connecting Ek Murti Chowk to NH-9 and boosting access to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and Jewar Airport.
To alleviate chronic traffic congestion in the National Capital Region (NCR), the Greater Noida Authority has announced plans for a four-kilometre, six-lane elevated route. This will connect Ek Murti Chowk in Greater Noida West to NH-9 via Shahberi and Crossings Republik, providing smooth access to the Delhi-Meerut Motorway (DME).
This vital arterial road intends to alleviate daily congestion on an eight-kilometre section clogged with residential high-rises and enhance access to Noida International Airport, which is set to open later this year. The Greater Noida Authority board approved the project, which is anticipated to cost ₹400 crore, in March.
A detailed project report (DPR) is being developed and should be ready within the next four to five months. The authority has approached NHAI for project execution while looking into financial collaboration with the Noida Authority and YEIDA, but the latter may be reticent due to jurisdictional constraints.
Quoting Ravi Kumar NG, CEO of Greater Noida Authority, “The elevated road will significantly ease congestion and benefit commuters between Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Noida, and the upcoming airport in Jewar.”
