Awarded ‘Challengers Award’ under Large Business, Corporate Category for Sustainability

  Henkel Adhesive Technologies India Pvt Ltd (Henkel India),  the solution provider for adhesives, sealants and surface treatment and a fully-owned subsidiary of Henkel AG & Co. KGaA, was honoured at Frost & Sullivan’s Sustainability 4.0 Awards 2016 with the ‘Challengers Award’ under Large Business, Corporate Category.

This award was presented to Sundar Iyer, CFO – Henkel India and other team members from the company on 27th May in Mumbai.

For this award, nationwide operations of Henkel India was assessed on different parameters of sustainability at an organisation level. This was followed by a visit to the company’s manufacturing site located at Thane district of Mumbai.  During a two-day on-site audit, Henkel was assessed on four parameters and 11 sub-parameters, which included – business strategy, governance and ethics, risk management, stakeholder management, sustainable supply chain, society, customers, environment management (waste, water, energy, and emissions), bio-diversity, human capital management and occupational health and safety.

The key impressive points highlighted by Frost & Sullivan in a report shared by them are as follows:
• Henkel India’s operational efficiency with respect to energy, water and waste management has seen year-on-year improvements (3 per cent reduction).
• The robust risk identification and mitigation system implemented by Henkel India is noteworthy.
• Prominence is given by it to any negative impact from its partners (OEMs and customers) which can have a detrimental effect on the company’s operations.
• Henkel’s Innovation Centre in Pune is available to its value chain partners for analysing their products and getting the best performance out of them.
