Due to higher size pipes in high rise buildings, cost of piping goes down.

Pipes of nominal outside diameters up to 315 mm have been included for soil waste and waste discharge systems; earlier it was up to 160 mm only.

“Foam Core Pipe has been included for non- pressure underground drainage and sewerage system and DWV application. These are multi-layer pipes and main advantages of using these pipes are – they are light in weight, strong, reduce noise level, lower thermal conductivity and longer service life,” says Piyush Chheda, Chairman, Prince SWR Systems Pvt Ltd.

Higher size pipes like 4-inch and 6-inch started in plumbing pipe as per ASTM standard which replaces the G.I pipes in high rise buildings. These pipes were started in Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) for hot and cold water application which replaces the G.I pipes in high rise buildings.

Positive impacts
Highlighting the positive impacts of higher size pipes, Chheda says, “Due to higher size pipes in high rise buildings, cost of piping goes down. These pipes being lighter in weight, their installation is easier, faster and cheaper. They reduce noise level and service life of these pipes is longer than conventional piping. Due to no scaling in the pipes, water quality is better throughout its life.”

Incorporating technology
Prince SWR Systems Pvt Ltd has already introduced higher size pipes after thorough testing at its end and successfully installed them in many prestigious projects.
