Hindustan Zinc launches India’s first digital logistics platform, “Zinc Freight Bazaar”

The company uses a smart logistics platform to improve the consumer experience by democratising access to premium-quality zinc.

Hindustan Zinc Limited, India’s sole and the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, has taken a significant step forward with the launch of Zinc Freight Bazaar, a digital-first logistics management system. This pioneering project establishes Hindustan Zinc as one of India’s first non-ferrous metals companies to launch an innovative logistics platform to empower customers, improve experience, and simplify logistics. The software includes real-time tracking, a logistics planner, a bidding tool, and a network of logistics service providers.

Traditionally, the zinc procurement process required customers to switch between different systems for logistical coordination and shipment tracking, which frequently led to operational inefficiencies.  This platform provides a streamlined, end-to-end digital solution, allowing business teams to easily buy key metals.

Zinc is an essential component of galvanisation, protecting steel from corrosion and supporting important industries such as infrastructure, automotive, renewable energy, electronics, high-tech manufacturing, defence, and electric mobility. Zinc Freight Bazaar, designed with a strong emphasis on user experience, provides robust production planning and allows customers to make smart logistical decisions. The platform is designed to suit the nuanced needs of its consumers.
