The trend suggests that the market is improving, and many stalled projects are on the verge of taking off after the monsoon season. Considering this, Kranti Kumar Ravuri, Managing Director, vibrant Construction Equipment Pvt. Ltd,. says the asphalt plant demand exists and is expected to increase this financial year.
Which asphalt equipment is most commonly used for road and highway construction?
The Hot Mix Plant batching type is the most common for all NH projects, along with Pavers, Rollers, and Sprayers, among the other equipment. Many state projects continue to accept the use of drum mix plants in conjunction with other equipment such as WMM plants, etc.
What are your thoughts on the need to upgrade old and existing plants and equipment?
The capital equipment used in road construction is expensive and should be used for more than one project (after completion), resulting in a higher return on investment. Therefore, it becomes imperative to maintain the equipment regularly as prescribed by the manufacturers. However, due to field pressures, the focus will shift toward project completion, with equipment maintenance taking a back seat. As a result, upgrading old and existing plants is necessary, which is a prudent practice.
