In shipyard or marine industries bulk size of steel plates and structures are used. As the ships have to float on sea-water the hull and side wall’s steel structure remains dipped in salty water of sea. To increase the resistance of these structures requires special engineering technique. MEC SHOT helps marine industries by providing inline Surface Treatment Systems (STS) in preservation line.
MEC SHOT STS includes pre-heat treatment for plates, blast cleaning chamber, blow off chamber, painting chamber with flash off zone.
The plate is kept on the inward side of the roller conveyor. The steel plates pass through inward tunnel and enter into the blasting chamber for blasting purpose. Nos. of blast wheel stations are located strategically around the cabinet fires shots on the components.
The plates are shot blasted homogeneously on all side. The blasted plates moves forward and enters into outlet vestibules tunnel. A blower constantly blow-off abrasive accumulated on the blasted plates. The air washed and duly shot blasted plates come out from the tunnel to get painted in online painting chamber.
The reverse jet filter cartridge dust collector is self cleaning system. All filter elements are automatically cleaned with the aid of timer card and solenoid valves. Anti-explosion vent is to be provided.
The semi down draft paint spray chamber is suitable for conventional, airless and electrostatic spray painting. It consists of painting chamber, inlet air filter, paint trap filters, axial flow fan, electric motor, duct and canopy etc. As the job passes through paint booth on Slat Conveyor, the reciprocating painting guns mounted on X manipulator will paint the plates from both sides.
The plates placed on the Slat Conveyor moves ahead without being any scratches. The Slat Conveyor cane carrier chain having the contact points on which the painted plate are being carried forward.
The complete process is PLC controlled for various parameter & repeatability of process. The system is environment friendly.
• Zero speed sensors for positive drives of screw and bucket elevator motors positive drive sensors have been provided.
• Job presence sensors physical job presence sensors on the roller conveyer will signal for shot flow.
• Job thickness sensors allow the settings of rollers brush wiper and blow fan.
• Job width sensors control the airless painting guns stroke. n
