Kennametal has produced several innovative solutions, such as tungsten carbide wire drawing pellets, pressure dies, long nibs, steel mill rolls, and some unique solutions using Conforma Clad as well, all of which are customised to cater to customers’ specific requirements.

These products, including wire drawing, bar drawing, and steel mill rolls, are intended to increase productivity, lower maintenance and labour costs, and improve product quality. They also dramatically improve tonnage generated between changeovers, resulting in significant operational efficiency for our customers.

Innovation in wire and cable offerings
Kennametal specialises in innovation across two main areas: firstly, the carbide grade they manufacture, including the recently introduced K313 grade for pressure wire drawing. This grade produces 30 to 40 percent more tonnage between changeovers than other players.

Furthermore, they have introduced new grades in steel mill rolls specifically intended for TMT rolling, which improves quality and productivity for customers. The second area of innovation is fully finished products, including pressure dies, pellets, dies and long nibs–a new trend in the wire and cable industry.
