JK Cement and DPIIT collabs to build cutting-edge infrastructure for startups

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) seeks to transform India into a global manufacturing powerhouse by giving startups access to cutting-edge infrastructure, R&D facilities, and mentorship, establishing a competitive and sustainable manufacturing ecosystem.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and JK Cement, a leading manufacturer of grey and white cement, to spur innovation, empower entrepreneurs, and strengthen India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

According to the DPIIT, this strategic alliance intends to turn India into a global manufacturing hub by fostering product startups, inventors, and entrepreneurs. The collaboration will provide access to cutting-edge infrastructure, cutting-edge production and R&D facilities, mentorship opportunities, pilot projects, and university resources through JK Cement. 

Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, described this MoU as a startup-friendly move, stating that it is a positive beginning towards collaborating with JK Cement to create a suitable atmosphere for entrepreneurs and innovators.

Furthermore, he states that this much-needed effort will greatly assist aspiring entrepreneurs in reaching new heights through collaboration, eventually transforming unique ideas into meaningful solutions, establishing India as a global leader in the area of manufacturing and innovation.

Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director Startup India, explained the essence of this strategic alliance, stating that this pro-startup initiative aims to accelerate entrepreneurship, create viable solutions, and drive sustainable development by supporting at least ten startups and entrepreneurs over the next year.
