In line with the Skill India goal, the Knauf India Mobile Academy programme will provide expert-led education in drywall and ceiling installation directly at major building sites in Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, establishing a new standard for grassroots workforce development in the construction sector.

Knauf India, the world’s leading firm in plasterboard and ceiling solutions, has announced the introduction of its latest project, the ‘Knauf Mobile Training Academy’, to promote talent development and industry excellence. This innovative, on-the-go pan-India training programme is designed to provide hands-on instruction in plasterboard and ceiling installation to over 25,000 construction workers, reinforcing Knauf India’s mission to foster innovation and best practices in the construction industry while also supporting the Skill India initiative.

The Training Academy was inaugurated at Knauf India’s Head Office in front of the company’s worldwide leadership. Sumit Bidani, CEO of Knauf India; Budhi Ballav Chilkoti, Regional Commercial Director, MEASA Region – Sales & Service Excellence; Ismael Hani, Regional People Director, MEASA Region – GY KSEMEA/Central/HR; and Vijay Mishra, Commercial Director of Knauf India were among those in attendance.

Over six months, a fleet of specially outfitted training vans will drive to major construction sites in Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities in India, converting them into mobile classrooms. Knauf India’s in-house experts will personally interact with employees, providing hands-on demonstrations and real-time learning opportunities utilising Knauf products. They will also provide detailed instructions on plasterboard and ceiling installation techniques to the installers.

Workers will be exposed to the most recent installation techniques, learn how to maximise productivity on job sites, and develop an awareness of quality measures required for delivering high-performance solutions.
