At bauma Conexpo India, Komatsu and L&T showcase hybrid excavators and sustainable technology machines.
In order to highlight their technological prowess, customer service prowess, and reaffirm their dedication to a sustainable future, Komatsu India Private Limited, a 100 percent subsidiary of the global construction and mining giant Komatsu Limited, and Larsen & Toubro Limited, India’s largest engineering company, put together an impressive display at Bauma Conexpo India 2023, at Greater Noida-NCR on January 31, 2023. The participation includes a substantial outdoor space, a built-in exhibit, and a thorough presentation of 15 machines, genuine parts, and special attachments.
For the first time, Komatsu is showcasing the HB365LC-1 Hybrid Excavator, which is at least 20 percent more energy efficient than comparable machinery and contributes to a reduction in carbon emissions. The PC300LC-8 Hydraulic Excavator is perfectly suited for scrap processing, which is anticipated to increase significantly with the new automobile scrapping policy. It is equipped with a parallel cabin and an orange peel grapple.
The next-generation GD535-6 Motor Grader is also on demonstration, along with Komatsu’s PC210-10MO Super Long Front, PC205-10M0 Hydraulic Excavator “the Earth Master,” the recently launched PC500LC-10R Hydraulic Excavator, and PC210-10M0 Super Long Front. These new models, which contain cutting-edge Komatsu technology, were especially created to meet the demanding requirements and conditions of India. The introduction of the new, very effective hydraulic excavators has been praised for creating a great deal of curiosity among consumers.
All of these models are biodiesel compatible, ready to shift consumer purchasing preferences, and will enhance the country’s sustainability index. In order to provide end users with simple access to biofuel at project sites, Komatsu is in discussion with oil companies.
For a steel plant in Odisha that intends to run the equipment on biodiesel, L&T recently ordered 100-ton off-highway trucks from Komatsu. Even when powered by alternative energy sources, this equipment maintains the same power and productivity while conserving fossil fuels and cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
L&T also displayed its top-notch road machinery at Bauma Conexpo, including the L&T 1190 Soil Compactor, L&T 990 Tandem Compactor, L&T 491 Mini Compactor, and L&T 2490 Pneumatic Tyred Roller (CE-IV compatible), all of which are well recognised in the Indian market. The stunning products on display included an L&T 9020 Wheel Loader and an L&T S315R Skid Steer Loader used for material handling. Tabletop models are used to display L&T’s environmentally friendly sand plants and crushing solutions, which are produced at its Kansbahal Plant in Odisha. These are certainly “Make in India” products, as defined by our honourable prime minister’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” vision.
Komtrax, Komatsu’s cutting-edge telematics for connected machines to boost efficiency, the Komatsu Oil Wear Analysis Centre for cutting-edge oil analysis programmes, and a simulator that allows visitors to virtually operate an excavator are all included in the stall’s audio-visual center. The display includes fast-moving filter kits for GETs (ground engaging tools) from Komatsu and L&T Genuine Parts. Additionally, Komatsu installed an experience centre that differentiates genuine parts from fake products.
Additionally, the stall exhibits value-added Komatsu Special Attachments like the Rock Breaker, Quick Coupler, and Car Scrap Handler as well as L&T-produced products like the Crusher Bucket, Rock Splitter, Clamshell, and Slope Compactor, all of which have extensive uses in the construction industry.
L&T has deployed Lady Operators at the show as part of their efforts to promote gender inclusivity in the industry. At a significant iron ore operation, L&T now employs an entirely female maintenance crew, showcasing the strength of women to the rest of the world.
Leading the company’s participation in the bauma Conexpo event were Yasunori Fujii, Managing Director, KIPL, and Arvind K. Garg, Senior Vice-President and Head, Construction and Mining Machinery, L&T.
