Opening the talk about Maco Corporation, Patel said, “We at MACO offer the GENIE brand of aerial work platforms, self propelled articulating and telescopic boom lifts in both, battery, diesel and bi-energy, battery and diesel powered scissor lift, telehandlers, trailer mounted boom lifts and material hoists.

When we asked Patel, what must have compelled the clients to approach Maco, he pointed out, “Genie is a 50-year old brand and the pioneer of the Articulating Boom Lift technology and among all the brands in the market Genie is the only one with minimum maintenance requirement. The product do not call for spares or engineers intervention in the first 2-3 years.”

He proudly says, “This is an average we have noticed with 98 per cent of our customers over a period of 12 years we have been the dealers.”

Innovations in AWP Industry
Ketan Patel also spoke about the innovations that are taking place in the AWP industry. He says, “AWP industry across the world is channelled through the rental market and their decisions play a major role in the innovation of the products. Genie through its program of ‘continuos improvement’ is always ahead with innovations like the dual parallelogram, active oscillation, X-chassis, fast mast down etc. to name a few.”

Patel also attributes the points like operator safety devices, narrower machines for easy transportation, easy trouble shooting and repair systems as the areas where in currently, extensive work is going on.

Payment concerns
When asked about the payment facilities for the clients, Patel said, “For our customers MACO can execute contracts both in rupees and any foreign currency using the services of its own offices in the USA and the Middle East.”

The facility to buy in different currencies on comfortable delivery terms such as CIF, FOB and FCA helps the customers to avail the various duty exemptions schemes that the government has extended to them.

Crossing hurdles
We also asked Patel about how the company deals with situations like breakdown and similar issues. “We have a very simple planning system by which we take care of the difficult looking situation first and get ready with solutions even before we start the execution process,” Patel concludes.
