Doka, renowned worldwide for its expertise in formwork and scaffolding solutions, has solidified its dominant presence in the Asia-Pacific region through a strategic merger with MFE Formwork Technology, a leading player in monolithic aluminum formwork based in Malaysia.
This union marks a significant milestone in Doka’s growth strategy, enhancing its foothold in Southeast Asia and the Pacific region, key areas of expansion alongside North America.
Robert Hauser, CEO Doka GmbH, says: “I am very pleased to finally announce that MFE is now part of Doka and thus part of the global Umdasch Group. We have been in a sales partnership for many years, which we are now taking to the next level. MFE is an experienced company with great expert know-how and state-of-the-art production facilities. Its innovative and high-quality products are highly appreciated by its customers.”
Established in 1991, MFE has earned acclaim for its monolithic aluminum formwork solutions, enabling efficient construction processes with seamless, jointless structures. With over 2,200 employees and headquarters in Malaysia, MFE has emerged as a trusted partner for construction projects worldwide. Meanwhile, Doka’s specialisation in steel formwork, particularly in large-scale projects like high-rises, infrastructure, and power plants, complements MFE’s offerings, creating a comprehensive formwork portfolio catering to diverse project needs.
The merger positions the combined entity as a one-stop solution provider for formwork and scaffolding, offering unparalleled convenience and efficiency to customers. With a diverse range of formwork solutions tailored to various project sizes and complexities, Doka and MFE can address the evolving demands of the construction industry with agility and precision. Furthermore, leveraging Doka’s extensive global sales network spanning over 60 countries and 170 locations, the partnership enhances MFE’s reach and market penetration, opening doors to new opportunities and collaborations on a global scale.
“By joining our forces we create a unique one-stop-shop formwork portfolio for our customers. With the right formwork solution for every project and size at hand, we can now respond to our customers’ needs even better. Additionally, we offer scaffolding solutions from a single source, making us unbeatable”, states Robert Hauser.
MFE, on the other hand, gains a robust owner as Doka has an extensive global sales network and is active in over 60 countries with more than 170 locations. “Today marks an important landmark in our 35- year history. We are excited about joining the Doka-family, which opens up new horizons for collaboration and enhances our ability to reach a wider audience globally. Together, we look forward to leveraging our combined strengths and expertise to drive innovation and provide unparalleled solutions to our customers around the world”, says Jim Robinson, Group Chairman, MFE Group of Companies.
