Optimising maximum concrete output
.

AJAX has been participating in the exhibition since the first bauma. Over the years, the expo has also grown in size, according to Debasis Bhattacharya, Head – Sales, Marketing & Product Support.

How has been your experience at bC India 2018?
This year, we have put across 12 products out of which three have been new launches as well. Each of our launches has been in different categories. We have optimised self-loading concrete mixers. Today, we have Argo 4500 which is a 4.5 cu.m. In batching plant segment, we have been in the 30 cu.m capacity and above. However Builder segment looks for a smaller capacity plant and we have come up with a 20 cu.m per hr Compact Batching Plant. AJAX Concrete pump ranges from 40-70 cum per hr capacity is catering to RMC application and high rise buildings. At BC India we have launched a 30 cu.m per hr capacity concrete pump which is compactable with self-loading concrete mixers.

Could you please elaborate on the features?
We already have our existing Argo 4000 which has a drum capacity of 4 cu.m with an output of 10-12 cu.m per hr. All contractors try to maximise or optimise production out of the fleet. Our Engineering team has worked on the new Argo 4500 on individual component-wise without changing the specification. We have increased the machine capacity and also introduced telematics with all latest advanced features which will make this machine as Next generation range of self-loading concrete mixers.

Can you talk more about the technology used in these products?
Self-loading concrete mixers is a hydrostatic machine. We have insured the power to weight ratio and have optimised this across the machine. With that power, we are trying to optimise the maximum concrete output as that is what is ultimately required from the machine. We work on the technology and components in a way that maximum power of the engine comes to different hydraulic movements. Similarly, for batching plants we have invested on planetary mixer which is a next generation of mixers.

How is this technology adding more value to construction?
Concrete has been developed over several years, wherein bulk of concreting activity was done manually. By introducing self-loading concrete mixer, we have saved down labour cost; the number of people required to run this machine is less. These machines are mobile and move from one site to the other.

How has 2018 been for your products and what is your outlook for 2019??
We have been growing ~ 30-35 per cent YoY for the last five years and we expect a similar growth in FY 19.

The year 2019 will be very positive because infrastructure itself is an irreversible activity. There is lot of national highway projects, state highway projects, irrigation projects, power transmission projects, etc which are coming.

Each of our launches has been in different categories.
