Discussing the scope of recycling and reusing material waste, Dr. Piero Guizzetti, CEO of MB Crusher India Pvt. Ltd., says, “Infrastructure will further define India’s growth story with new buildings and re-modernisation of existing structures that fit well with our ongoing focus on reducing, reusing and recycling.”
Present demand trends for crushing and screening equipment
I think customers have become more careful in the decision-making process, including their investments for CapEx and OpEx and the best-case scenarios when they’re planning their CapEx or OPEX kinds of investments. Earlier, people were going for very high productivity crushers, which satisfied their immediate requirements. But the market’s ups and downs make it challenging to choose appropriately, and when customers are taking such large CapEx machines, of course, when the machine is down, or when the market is down, you have very high depreciation costs.
People are shifting from large crushing units to smaller ones, even if it means working longer hours during the day to meet peaktime requirements. Even if they have to work longer hours, they are delighted. It has also been observed that Northern India places a much higher value on mobility. It initially provides high productivity and output material of high quality, but it is static by definition. If you are working on a remote site in the mountains, transportation costs will be inconvenient in terms of timing and cost. So, mobility is a value that customers are increasingly appreciating right now. That is ideal for us because all our products are attached to the base machine.
Unique features that give you an upper hand in the market
We at MB invest heavily in R&D. On the back of 10 years’ worth of India-specific data, thanks to our direct presence in the country, we have enhanced aspects of our machine to better fit Indian requirements. Our portfolio’s unparalleled breadth allows us to be a one-stop solution for utility enhancement attachments, which are compatible with all excavators and backhoes, whether for crushing, screening, trenching, or material handling. The equally leading depth in each product category enables us to offer multiple configurations based on CapEx and OpEx requirements and the capacity of the end customer.
Shifting from conventional to mobile crushing solutions
At Post-Covid, we have observed that most equipment buyers are more willing to consider mobile solutions, which give them greater flexibility to operate at their own will and be independent at heir work site, without considering transportation to and from the site for aggregates. Furthermore, customers are more thoughtful of their actual requirements, preferring to work longer hours with machines with relatively lower productivity rates and CapEx. This is because there is more risk aversion related to having larger units sitting idle when work is less or slows down.
Addressing fuel efficiency and cost-efficiency
Fortunately, we do not even have to consider fuel efficiency or costs. The reason is that there is zero additional fuel consumption for the base machines upon which MB products are mounted. Hence, considering that for any other alternate solution, a base machine is always required, there is no additional fuel consumption when using MB vis-à-vis any other solution; it can only be less comparatively speaking.
Products and solutions complementing sustainability
We were established with the aim intent to provide products that could help contractors reduce, reuse, and recycle, and we have maintained the motto throughout our progress. So, being smart and green is embedded in our DNA. We help reduce waste and reuse or recycle materials to the extent possible. Apart from being able to recycle any material, we crush or screen, another key benefit of our product category at the general level is that compared to alternate solutions, it does not require electricity and does not consume additional base machine fuel than what would be required to use said machines for feeding any other alternate solutions.
Innovations displayed and launched at Intermat 2022
At Intermat 2022, we exhibited our best-selling models in India, including the BF90.3 Bucket Crusher an attachment essentially suitable for 21-ton class excavators, and the MB-L160, which is a bucket crusher suitable for backhoe loaders of 7 to 11 tons. MB Crusher is the first to introduce it in India, giving customers a completely new and added utilityto their base machines, be it a
backhoe loader or an excavator. Our machines are compatible and suitable with all brands, tonnage and classes of excavators and backhoe loaders. The primary value of these products essentially gives you mobility and the capability to be completely independent at the job site because they can crush and set the output setting as per requirements anywhere from 140 mm. If it’s a static rusher unit, it will feed as a secondary crusher and can crush down to 20 mm. So, we can satisfy any requirement, whether GSB for road construction or aggregates for other industries. We also displayed the drum cutter, the MB-R800, which is a drum cutting machine, again just essentially for pipeline and trenching suitable for excavators. We have a shaft screening machines.
Reducing, reusing and recycling waste
|
Infrastructure will further define India’s growth story with new buildings and the re-modernisation of existing structures that fit well with our ongoing focus on reducing, reusing and recycling. Moreover, various infrastructure in India, including railways, roads and bridges, needs remodelling and redevelopment. Hence, reusing demolished materials is highly relevant to our products. Even the government is pushing the concept f reusing and recycling by drafting changes to the recycling policy.
Transforming the market outlook through sustainability
There is an increasing legislative emphasis on recycling as it is expected to be a primary contributor to our construction growth story. Per the rules, 30 percent of the demolished material must be reused. If the customer is working on a demolition project, they must reuse 30 percent of the demolished material, possibly by law. MB Crusher works with several demolition contractors who use the waste as a landfill. Now they can crush it, screen it, and resell it. It has not only eliminated a cost but added a revenue stream for them. They can sell this asaggregates, GSB, WM, and material.
Commitment in India
MB Crusher is heavily investing in the Indian market to broaden our customer base. We intend to expand in India. We currently have a significant presence in India, in 20 states, headquartered in Mumbai, and warehousing facilities in Maharashtra. We are dedicated expanding our dealer network in India and worldwide. Coming from Italy, it is ten times larger than the Italian market. So, know we have to be ready because it’s not just about selling in India; after-sales services are also critical, so we have to be there with service engineers, spare parts, consumables, and so on right here in the territory.
