Priorities in procurement have undergone a definite change over the years. The cost of ownership of any project is higher and the focus is shifted to complete the project in a shorter duration. This also entitles the project owner to the bonus cost, which nowadays is already factored in the project cost.

“The average age of any of the Wirtgen Group products in the market is around two years, which means most of our products are from the new generation and in most cases, the Wirtgen Group products are at least a generation ahead of competition,” Palagiri said.

The company’s cold milling machines, soil stabilisers and cold recyclers, surface miners, the new Dash 3 series of Vogele Pavers, the EVO series of Kleemann crushing and screening plants are all new generation products which are technically ahead of competition.
