Patel Engineering wins Telangana irrigation project bid

Patel Engineering, in a joint venture, has secured the lowest bid (L1) for an irrigation project valued at ₹ 525.36 crore, as declared by the Irrigation & CAD Department of the Telangana Government. Patel Engineering’s portion of the contract amounts to ₹ 267.93 crore.
The Irrigation & CAD Department of the Government of Telangana has awarded Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) and its Joint Venture partner the L1 status for a significant contract valued at ₹ 525.36 crore. The contract pertains to the construction of RCC Protection Walls along both flanks of the Munneru River, stretching from Polepally to Prakashnagar in Khammam City, Telangana.
Furthermore, embankment work covering a distance of 2 km on each side of the river near the Nagarjuna Sagar Left Bank Aqueduct in Khammam city is also included in the project scope. With a completion timeline of 24 months, the project aims to fortify the riverbank and mitigate potential risks in the area.
It is noteworthy that PEL holds a majority share of 51 percent in the Joint Venture undertaking. This significant project underscores the commitment of the Telangana Government towards enhancing infrastructure and bolstering the region’s resilience against natural hazards.
