Plastic formwork for easy, economic and efficient construction
.

USPs of Nova’s modular plastic formwork include value for money, easy to change sizes, faster cycles, minimum labour requirement, easy installation and on top of everything it is an Indian product.
Vikas Mittal, Managing Director, Nova Formwork Systems

Nova Formwork Systems is a manufacturer of plastic formwork panels for columns, slabs, walls, lift walls etc. The company’s Managing Director Vikas Mittal explains the advantages of using plastic system formwork over the metallic ones.

Indian construction industry is yet to embrace advanced formwork technologies. What’s your comment on this?
Yes it’s true. Indian construction industry is yet to shift from the conventional formwork to system formwork, but the process has started. There were very few companies like L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji, BG Shirke, JMC, and Ahluwalia Contracts India. However, since the beginning of 2014 many contractors have shifted from conventional system to modular plastic formwork system and a lot many will follow them soon.

There are a few players dominating the Indian market for formwork. Why a buyer should buy NOVA Formwork?
Nova Formwork is a patented modular plastic formwork system manufactured in India at our plants in Ghaziabad and Bengaluru. It is a lightweight yet very sturdy system with an average weight of 15 to 18 kg per square meter and which can handle vertical concrete pressure of 6 tonnes per square metre.

Our modular plastic formwork has a very low surface tension and so does not stick to concrete thereby giving a good finish to the surface and a very easy to clean formwork. It can be used more than 100 times. So some of the USPs of Nova’s modular plastic formwork include value for money, easy to change sizes, faster cycles, minimum labour requirement, easy installation and on top of everything it is an Indian product.

You have recently introduced NOVA FRAMEX. Could you explain its unique advantages?
NOVA FRAMEX is an improvement to our earlier system seeing the handling of Indian job sites.  It is the combination of high impact plastic panels with a lightweight steel stiffener for higher load taking capacity, durability and more number of repetitions.

It is modular and can be locked by pins and wedges. Even frames can be made at factory joining 2 or 3 panels together, making a single panel of 3.7-metre height.

How do you see market of plastic formwork for infrastructure projects?
The market for plastic formwork is very good and we have seen a lot of jump in the infrastructure sector. We have supplied plastic formwork for box culverts, drains, bridges, roads, flyovers and are getting a lot of new projects. We expect substantial increase quantum in the infrastructure sector as the govt. spending will increase in these sectors from the 2017 budget.
