PM Modi inaugurated development projects worth ₹ 56,000 crore in Telangana’s Adilabad.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and initiated the groundwork for 32 significant developmental projects nationwide, marking a milestone in the country’s progress. Among these initiatives, 29 were dedicated to bolstering the power sector, while three were earmarked for enhancing railway and road infrastructure. The cumulative value of these projects, unveiled from Telangana, exceeded a staggering ₹ 56,000 crore.

Addressing a gathering in Adilabad, Telangana, Prime Minister Modi hailed the region’s pivotal role in national development, emphasising the diverse array of projects spanning energy, environmental sustainability, and road connectivity. Notably, of the total investment, ₹ 30,000 crore pertains to projects spearheaded by the state-owned power generation behemoth, NTPC Ltd.

A significant highlight among the inaugurated ventures was the Unit-2 (800 MW) addition to NTPC’s Telangana Super Thermal Power Project (Stage-I) in Peddapalli district. This cutting-edge facility, constructed with an investment of ₹ 8,007 crore, leverages ultra-supercritical technology to optimise power generation efficiency while substantially curbing CO2 emissions.

Additionally, the Prime Minister unveiled Unit-2 (660 MW) of the North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (3×600 MW) in Jharkhand, underscoring the government’s commitment to bolstering energy infrastructure across regions. Moreover, laying the foundation stone for the Singrauli Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-III (2X800 MW) in Sonebhadra, Uttar Pradesh, with a total investment outlay of ₹ 17,000 crore, further exemplified the administration’s unwavering focus on fostering sustainable development and economic growth.
