Popularity of polymer-based waterproofing membranes gallops due to its utility
.

In recent years, polymer-based waterproofing membranes are finding favour with structural engineers and architects as they last for the lifetime of the building and are not impacted by soil alkalinity or chemicals. It has been tested and proved that polymer-based waterproofing membranes provide a permanent solution to seepage, leakage, or ingress of moisture and water in concrete. Polymer-based waterproofing materials have the advantage of a low enough viscosity and fast curing.

There are several types waterproofing solutions available – cementitious waterproofing, liquid waterproofing membrane, bituminous membrane, bituminous coating and polymer-based waterproofing. The type of waterproofing one need to go for is dependent on structure’s unique situation and construction, including climatic conditions of the location. It’s also important to note that in many cases, not just one type of repair, but rather a combination of approaches, may be necessary. However, polymer-based waterproofing membranes have found universal application – for basement, walls, bathrooms and kitchen, balconies, decks, terrace or roofs and swimming pools.

Supreme Industries has come out with new generation, polymer-based, cost effective solution for waterproofing called DURAmembrane. It has proven to be the most effective and efficient water proofing product best suited for tropical country like India.

Since it has closed-cell structure it has negligible water / water vapour absorption, thus proving to be an ideal multi-purpose waterproofing material. The uniform thickness of DURAmembrane eliminates any likelihood of thin application commonly found with liquid applied membranes. It is also considered to be very versatile material as it is capable of retaining the dryness of concrete, masonry, metal and wood structures and is resistant to salts, alkalis, and most acids. As it has tri-dimensional cross linking of cells it is also weather resistant and shockproof.  Above all its usage doesn’t require very high skilled manpower and is very quick and easy-to-apply solution for water leakage.

Because of these advantages, DURAmembrane has proved to be a better alternative product to construction chemicals or chemical coating waterproofing.

Polymer-based waterproofing membranes have found universal application – for basement, walls, bathrooms and kitchen, balconies, decks, terrace or roofs and swimming pools.\
