Quality of welding depends on feedback of mechanism

Fronius developers have used their wide ranging knowledge to give the welder virtually unlimited scope for dealing with hugely varied usage situation.
Lots of inverter machines are available in the welding market, but the quality of the welding machine and the quality of the welding is dependent on the feedback mechanism in the machine. This means every moment the welding arc is monitored and the feedback goes in to the machine; machine computes the same and compensates for the irregulatories and corrects it.
Digital welding equipment was developed 10 years back and with that period and with present electronics there is huge possibility to increase this communication speed. This can be compared with the ordinary mobile and the smart phones. The smart phones are having very good processor speed which helps to run various apps which was not possible earlier.
“With the new communication of 100 Mbit (200 times faster than existing machines) and with Linux platform Fronius Machines have become smarter and intelligent. Intelligence is the ability to adapt to changed situation. Fronius developers have used their wide ranging knowledge to give the welder virtually unlimited scope for dealing with hugely varied usage situation. With its innovative communication technology the TPS/I can gather even more information about the arc, and regulate it much more accurately than even before. This has a direct impact on the welding process,” says, V V Kamath, National Sales Director, Fronius India Pvt Ltd.
Challenges
“The country is facing the scarcity of the quality welding operators. The machines are minimising the skill of the operator and able to deliver much better quality of the welding even with the varying sick-out and change in the welding profiles. The smart features in the form of Arc Length Stabilizer and Penetration Stabilizer the machine is able to have uniform penetration, zero or minimum spatter, higher welding speed and lower heat input. The Low Spatter Control (LSC) and Pulse Multi Control (PMC) are the two new weld process packages which are able to meet the challenges of the industry,” says Kamath, when asked about the challenges.
Latest innovation
“With the TPS/I technology, Fronius is able to weld any metal and also has given the freedom to make it flexible as per customer choice,” says Kamath.
Kamath explains with an example – a customer can buy a synergic machine and later upgrade to pulse or any other welding process package like LSC and PMC. The machine is able to inform the power consumed in kilo watt. The heat input of the last seam in kilo jules and the arcing hours in the panel only without any additional cost. The machine parameter shall be taken as back up in PDF format and store it for any weld audit and reference without any additional cost. The machine shall be paired with any other electronic gadget like mobile, tab or laptop with the internet connection and share the screen, take backups, update the software absolutely free of cost.
