Ramco Cements’ CSR initiative, “Promotion of Sanitation and Hygiene using SMART Toilets in Ariyalur District,” has been recognised and rewarded by the Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

The Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industries established the MCCI CSR Awards in 2018. Since then, the award has been granted annually to recognise the societal effect of innovative CSR practises in Tamil Nadu.

The award recognises CSR projects undertaken cooperatively by corporations and NGOs for the more significant social benefit, with accountability, transparency, and a verifiable influence on society.

This year’s recipients were chosen from many projects submitted to the chamber based on a well-structured criterion and an acclaimed panel of jurors. Ramco Cements’ initiative, developed in partnership with NGO partner Gramalaya, was named second runner-up.

The awards were delivered on January 31, 2023, in Chennai. Cavin Care Chairman C.K. Ranganathan presented the awards. Ravichandran (Sr. VP-ESG) and Vishnu. K. (Asst. Manager – CSR) from Ramco Cements accepted the award, as did Elangovan (Executive Director) and Senthil (Project Manager) from Gramalaya NGO.
