Hailstone has successfully completed over 1500 installations. Can you highlight some of the most challenging or innovative projects you’ve undertaken and how they have contributed to your company’s growth and reputation?

Hailstone Innovations has had a joyful and exciting ride so far, ever since its inception in 1994. Challenges have also been part of the journey, and our team has managed to convert those challenges into opportunities both for themselves and for the company. Every single project, small or big, has played a part in crafting Hailstone’s journey, and we are grateful for that.

What sets your product range apart and meets the changing demands of the construction and mining industries?

As an equipment major, Hailstone’s full range of crushing, screening, and washing equipment sets the standard for quality and ease of operation. Our systems are designed for maximum uptime and are built to withstand the toughest conditions. Considering the demand trend, we provide various stationary and mobile solutions with customised designs to meet specific application requirements. Our SMART crusher is a classic example of our thorough understanding of the industry and its customers. We are also bringing about dual power options for our machines.

What are the most pressing challenges currently faced by the construction and mining equipment manufacturing industry?

The construction equipment manufacturing industry has a vast potential to grow, given the innumerable government and private projects that are lined up. Nevertheless, there are challenges as well. But with the support of the Central and Local government, the Stone Crusher Quarry Association, Builders’ Association of India, we can ease the challenges.

Do you see any specific emerging technologies that have the potential to revolutionise the industry?

Augmented reality, the Industrial Internet of Things, smart manufacturing, and artificial intelligence are going to make a great impact in the industry. They are going to define the way the industry works now. The change has started already. 

What role do environmental standards and sustainability initiatives play in the construction and mining equipment manufacturing sector?

Sustainability is the buzzword now, and the CE industry can’t exclude itself from it. Construction equipment manufacturers are facilitating sustainable practices to curb pollution and limit the depletion of natural resources. Hailstone is taking giant steps to make our machines green. We are working on making all our products energy efficient. We are also educating our customers and staff members about the importance of eco-friendly methods.

Given the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, how has it affected the industry, and what adaptations or strategies have been essential for businesses in this sector?

The pandemic has taught us valuable lessons, mainly resilience. The industry faced the shock, gathered itself up, and started making strides. The physical boundaries and limitations have become a thing of the past. We are now more digitally connected, and by we, I mean the machines, too. Remote monitoring has developed more after the pandemic.

Could you share your outlook on the future of the construction and mining equipment industry?

The construction and mining equipment industry has great potential to grow as our government has given a massive push to the infrastructure sector by allocating INR 10 lakh Crores in the budget. Construction equipment accounts for approximately 20-30% of the investment in a typical infrastructure development project. So, our future is bright and shiny.
