At Roto, we prioritise optimal performance and energy efficiency by implementing innovative designs and utilising high-quality materials. Our research and development teams work closely to engineer pumps with streamlined hydraulic profiles, reducing friction losses and energy consumption. We also focus on precise manufacturing tolerances to minimise leakages and enhance overall efficiency. What are the key challenges faced by the pumps and valves industry, especially in terms of sourcing raw materials and cost, and how are you addressing them?

The challenges in sourcing raw materials and managing costs are ever-present in the industry. To address these, we have adopted a strategic approach to supply chain management, working closely with trusted suppliers and maintaining buffer stocks. We’ve also invested in research to identify alternative materials that do not compromise quality. Our commitment to lean manufacturing practices helps us control costs and pass the savings onto our customers, all without compromising the quality and performance they’ve come to expect from our products.

How is the integration of smart technologies and data analytics transforming the pumps and valves sector, and what advantages do these innovations offer?

The integration of smart technologies is revolutionizing the way we approach pumps. We at Roto Pumps are also working on developing a new range of smart pumps. By incorporating sensors, IoT, and data analytics, we will be able to offer predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, and intelligent control systems. These technologies will not only enhance the efficiency of our products but also provide actionable insights for end-users. It allows them to make informed decisions, reduce unplanned downtimes, and achieve optimal performance, leading to significant savings in time and resources.

Rust and corrosion are some of the key concerns; which measures are you taking to avoid them in your range of products?

We fully recognise the challenges that rust and corrosion present in our industry. At Roto, we employ advanced coating technologies and utilise corrosion-resistant materials like stainless steel, duplex steel, and exotic alloys, along with specially formulated polymers. Recently, we have also invested in a Tungsten Carbide Coating Facility and hard Chrome Plating Unit. Additionally, we invest in thorough quality testing to ensure that the selected materials meet the specific demands of various applications. These measures, coupled with appropriate design considerations, help us provide products that stand up to the harshest environments while retaining their functionality and efficiency.
