Schmersal India, a leading provider of safety products, is celebrating a remarkable milestone as it marks ten years of manufacturing excellence on 1 July 2023. The occasion was commemorated with a grand jubilee celebration held at the company’s production facility in Pune, where channel partners, suppliers, customers, and employees gathered to honour this significant achievement.

Commitment to ‘Make in India’ through state-of-the-art manufacturing facility

Established in 2007, Schmersal India recognized the growing demand for safety products in the country, leading the Schmersal Group to establish a state- of-the-art manufacturing facility in 2013 at Ranjangaon MIDC, Pune. As the only Multinational Corporation (MNC) to have a manufacturing unit for safety products in India, Schmersal has remained committed to the ‘Make in India’ initiative while adhering to international safety standards. With an impressive production and storage space spanning almost 4,000 sq m, the Schmersal factory at MIDC Ranjangaon manufactures cutting- edge safety systems and solutions for machine safety.

Schmersal expanding its market presence and outreach

In May 2021, Schmersal India reached a significant milestone by producing an impressive 100 thousand safety products within a single month, showcasing its manufacturing prowess and capacity. Another momentous achievement was accomplished in December 2022 when the company surpassed a turnover of INR 100 million with its Indian operations. To further strengthen its presence in the Indian market, Schmersal India has expanded its sales activities by opening new sales offices and broadening its network of distribution channels. This strategic move aims to tap into new markets, enhance geographical coverage, and raise awareness about the importance of machine safety in India. Additionally, Schmersal India supplies its high- quality products and solutions to all SAARC countries.

As part of its global strategy, Schmersal India established the Schmersal Global Competence Centre for IT, software, and engineering services in 2022. This centre serves as a hub for expertise in these critical areas, further enhancing Schmersal’s capabilities and innovation in serving its customers. In January 2023, Schmersal announced the inauguration of its expanded office on the 6th floor of Nucleus Mall in Pune, marking yet another significant milestone. This expansion signifies the company’s continued growth and commitment to the Indian market, as it strives to provide even better products and services to its valued customers.

Milestones of success: achievements in production and sales

Over the past decade, Schmersal India has achieved remarkable success under the leadership of Sagar Bhosale, the Managing Director and a Founding Member of the company. With his guidance, Schmersal India has experienced exponential double-digit sales growth, not only in products but also in services, which have become an integral part of the business. From its humble beginnings with just five employees, the company’s workforce has expanded to include 143 highly skilled professionals.
