The newly constructed plant will set standards for quality, sustainability, and technology while creating 500+ employment, increasing regional development, and utilising 5,000 tonnes of fly ash per day from the Jawaharpur Thermal Power Plant.

Shree Cement, one of India’s largest cement makers, has announced the opening of a new grinding mill in Etah. With an annual capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), Shree’s Etah operation will be one of the region’s largest grinding units, contributing to Uttar Pradesh’s growth trajectory. The project, funded by internal accruals, costs ₹850 crore and is estimated to provide around 500 direct and indirect job opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Akhoury, Managing Director, Shree Cement says, “At Shree Cement, we are committed to supporting Uttar Pradesh’s rapid infrastructure and housing development. Our manufacturing units also contribute to a sustainable future for local communities by creating job opportunities, establishing educational facilities and improving infrastructure.”

The unit’s strategic location near railway infrastructure allows for cost-effective delivery of raw materials from Rajasthan, while cement dispatch will use roads and railroads for optimal distribution. A freshly constructed road offers direct freeway access, increasing transit efficiency and streamlining logistics.

The Etah factory will be a model for sustainability, with zero-waste operations, air-cooled screw compressors to reduce water usage, and innovative filters to ensure a low environmental effect.  Furthermore, the company has worked with the adjacent Jawaharpur Thermal Power company to consume its 100 percent fly ash waste – approximately 5000 tonnes per day – thereby improving operational efficiencies. In keeping with Shree Cement’s commitment to green energy, a solar installation is planned for the next 2-3 years.

The Etah grinding machine is outfitted with cutting-edge German technology for the basic operational components as well as modern pollution control technologies, such as the Mill Bag House with Epoxy cages. This technique offers remarkable pollution control efficiency, lowering dust emissions to levels well below the permitted limits while minimising environmental damage. To ensure the greatest levels of safety and quality, raw materials are stored completely covered at the factory.  Furthermore, modern filters protect air quality, demonstrating Shree Cement’s dedication to a sustainable and pollution-free environment.

The plant’s technological advancements include an AI-based Bag Counter System for exact inventory management, a laser-based Online Particle Size Analyser for optimal cement quality, and upgraded safety precautions like temperature sensors and back door limit switches in HT panels.  The facility also has an industry-first Waggon Tippler System that adheres to the most recent Railway RDSO rules, as well as German-designed Twin Hybrid Samson Feeders that minimise power consumption, lower lift, save time, and eliminate water seepage. This cutting-edge plant reflects the cement industry’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and sustainability.

Shree Cement’s CSR initiatives will include infrastructure development and education in the adjoining community of Nigoh Hasanpur, which will assist 2500 locals.

Shree Cement Limited is a market leader in sustainability, operational efficiency, and innovation.  Committed to environmentally sustainable building solutions, the company uses synthetic gypsum, maintains 6x water positivity, and uses a variety of fuel sources, including waste materials. It also promotes sustainable travel by increasing railway use and introducing electric and CNG automobiles.

The brand portfolio includes various premium products, such as Bangur Magna for solid concrete, Bangur Roofon for solid roofing, and Bangur Marble for solid bright homes. It also includes Bangur Shree Jungrodhak for rust resistance, Bangur Powermax for exceptional fracture resistance, and Bangur Rockstrong for rock-like strength.
