Sika has increased its presence in Kazakhstan by building a new production facility in Ust-Kamenogorsk, which includes innovative mortar and concrete admixture production lines as well as a cutting-edge laboratory.
Sika has built a new production facility in Ust-Kamenogorsk, complete with mortar and concrete admixture production lines and a sophisticated laboratory. The plant is Sika’s fourth in Kazakhstan, and it is located in a strategic industrial zone in the country’s east. As a construction chemicals leader, Sika is participating in large-scale projects in Kazakhstan, a rapidly expanding market.
The launch of the new production plant in Ust-Kamenogorsk marks a significant strategic milestone for Sika, expanding its presence in a critical region. Kazakhstan is one of the world’s greatest mineral resource countries, with a booming mining industry and many enterprises in the chemical, energy, and automotive sectors concentrated in the country’s east. As these sectors expand, so does the demand for residential housing, with both market groups creating strong demand for Sika’s products.
“The new production plant in eastern Kazakhstan will enable us to meet the growing demand from the mining and construction industries for high-performance mortars and concrete admixtures. With an abundance of minerals, Kazakhstan presents significant opportunities, and we are committed to serving this region with our innovative solutions.” Christoph Ganz, Regional Manager EMEA.
Sustained growth in the construction industry in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan’s construction industry is expected to develop at an average annual rate of 4.2 percent until 2028, led by investments in energy projects, water storage reservoirs, transportation infrastructure, and industrial parks. The present worth of construction projects across the country is expected to be around CHF 160 billion.
