Newcomers 
MMD is developing advanced sizing technologies for the past 25 years. The company has added two new products in its product line: In-Pit Sizing and Conveying (IPSC) Systems and MMD Atlas Transporter.

IPSC systems
IPSC systems are cost-effective and safer alternatives to discontinuous material transport by dump trucks. Employing either fully mobile, semi mobile or static sizer units in conjunction with conveyors, IPSC efficiently transports material out of the mine. Depending on the application, this alternative mining method can significantly reduce or even eliminate the use of expensive dump trucks for material haulage, providing not only economic benefits by using cheaper electrical power, but also environmental benefits such as lower greenhouse gases, dust pollution and noise emissions, claims Chaudhuri.

The compact design and ability to negotiate gradients of up to 10 per cent on uneven terrain provides uncompromised portability. The transporter in combination with an MMD modular semi-mobile sizing unit allows for reliable and efficient relocation; enabling mines to take full advantage of cost effective short haul truck and shovel operations. A single transporter can serve many sizer stations and structures around the mine.

Increased localisation
MMD Heavy Machinery (India) Pvt Ltd built the manufacturing facility on 15 acres land in Sricity, Tada, Andhra Pradesh to manufacture complete machine, spares components of MMD’s sizing equipment.

“The plant has been set up to strengthen our domestic sells activities, enhancing the supply chain strategy to serve local customers better with products which can satisfy their requirement and 24 x 7 continuous service support,” said Chaudhuri.
