Special grades of silicon sealants to enhance demand
.

In an exclusive interaction, Maris Polymers talks about the advancements in the Indian market and elaborates on adhesive solutions for industrial applications.

What innovations are happening in the adhesives and sealants market for construction applications?

Currently, the construction industry consumes a considerable chunk of the remote acrylic polymer, silicon, and polysulphide sealants. However, polysulphide sealants are slowly being replaced with polyurethane sealants due to their better performance. New generation sealants, like epoxy-polyurethane hybrid sealants, are now available in all colour shades to complement the RAL shades of epoxy flooring to match the floor colour, replacing the traditional polysulphide sealant. Also, special grades of silicon sealants suitable for a particular application have been introduced to enhance the Indian market.

How is the construction and infra project segment complying with the eco-friendly applications of your products?

Implementing RERA-like regulations is gradually balancing the market to achieve a win-win situation for all parties. In the interest of the environment, cold-applied & cold-cured products/systems are gaining popularity with time. All our products and systems are cold-applied and cured using a simple roller or brush. Obsolescence of on-site hot applications or using fancy, expensive equipment reduces our costs to a comparable level. The ease of application, combined with longer-lasting results and cost-effectiveness, gives us a competitive advantage in eco-friendly applications of our products.

How cost-effective are your solutions in the market? What are its key features?

We at Maris believe that the definition of ”cost-effectiveness” totally depends on the client’s perspective. For some, paying a cost ”X” for two years may be cost-effective, while for others, investing ”X+2” for ten years is the real sense of ”cost-effectiveness”. Our team and business associates look at cost-effectiveness from the ROI point of view. Following this core value allows us to adhere firmly to our specifications while not diluting their effect on the environment. The right solutions in the right areas of applications at the right price are the biggest advantage one can count on with Maris!

What are adhesive solutions for industrial applications on various structures and materials?

The construction industry has rediscovered itself due to advancements in construction chemical technology. Infrastructure projects like bridges are being built using epoxy-based segmental glues and adhesives. Composite panels are being manufactured using polyurethane adhesives to enhance various properties. As a result, overall adhesive solutions are gradually gaining traction in industrial applications.
